Vice President, Development & Construction

This Senior position is responsible for the full development and construction of CHP plants for existing and new clients, up to commencement of operation when responsibility for the projects would transfer to the Chief Operating Officer. The role is responsible for managing a team that develops (including assisting in the sourcing of new business) and constructs multiple projects in multiple countries, presenting to new and existing clients, negotiating off-take, fuel and other utility supply agreements, sourcing and negotiating equipment and construction contracts, regular liaison with clients to monitor development and construction progress, determining the contractor's schedule, cost, and placement of site management personnel and recruiting and overseeing Site Engineers (owner's representative) and Construction Contractors at each site. This will include sourcing appropriate permits, monitoring the project schedule and costs (including change orders), reviewing quality of work, supporting site personnel, reporting to Senior Management and supporting the in house Engineering team during the design phase of projects.

Who we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science andin-depth experience including development, operational and management experience in engineering and construction in a CHP business. It is strongly preferred thatsome of the experience hasinvolved workinginan international location within Europe or Africa.
• Knowledge of the type of CHP technology being developed for an assigned project site including knowledge of gas engine, absorption chillers, and CO2 extraction units.
• Knowledge of development of projects in an international environment
• Demonstrated leadership ability, technical excellence and management skills and strong commercial skills including negotiating, planning and budgeting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and motivational skills. Must be able to communicate well with all levels of personnel in multiple languages. Must be able to address issues with owner, contractor, equipment and utility provides and offtakers and Site Engineer in an effective manner to secure cooperation for the successful outcome of the project. Multiple language skills a plus or ability to work easily with a translator.
• Must be able to travel internationally on a regular basis.
• While the role is a management role, it will involve a significant amount of execution as well
