Legal Counsel

In-house Banking

As Legal Counsel for this multinational banking giant, your key responsibilities will be to support the general work of the Legal team, through managing legal risks and casework, providing strategic advice and ensuring that the team meets its aims and objectives. You will be the primary legal contact for all issues of a strategic and/or material nature including issues related to corporate structure; new and existing products and services; new offices; litigation and corporate contractors. You will also be expected to provide expert and timely legal and business advice to the Executive Committee, Regional Managers and the Board (where required) on strategic matters affecting the Group. As well as this, you will manage continuous change and risk; seek innovative ways to resolve problems and seek to improve the efficiency of the Group's operations. The role will be based in either Jersey or Guernsey.

Who we're looking for
• You must be a UK/Commonwealth-qualified solicitor/barrister with experience gained within banking/financial services.
• You must have prior experience of one or all of the following: litigation; cross-border transactions; regulatory projects; inter-departmental projects; corporate contracts.
• Our client is ideally looking for candidates with a strong-track record within the In-House Banking sector, although candidates with similar experience and skill sets looking to make a move from private practice to in-house are also welcome to apply.
