The prime purpose of this Oxfordshire basedHR Advisorrole is to provide an efficient, accurate, comprehensive, and HR service liaising closely with the HR Leads and Managers of Organisation. You will have specific responsibility for providing an advisory service to one of the Directorates, being the main point of contact for staff and managers within that Directorate on HR issues.
Other key tasks include:
• To act as an accessible and approachable contact point and operational support to the HR Leads and other management in relation to generalist HR issues. Also, to provide an available point of reference for HR services for staff by developing and maintaining visibility.

• To act as a source of advice to both line management and staff. This includes:

- Seeking out problem areas and taking positive steps to provide appropriate guidance in areas such as employment legislation, staff relations, etc.
- Acting in an advisory capacity in relation to the interpretation and application of local and national terms and conditions of service.
- Providing guidance and advice to other members of the HR team and to initiate formal and informal training when necessary.
- To keep up to date with professional developments, including changes in HR practice and new legislation by attending relevant training courses.

• To provide advice regarding appropriate sources of labour on a general and ad hoc basis. This includes making recommendations to meet relevant recruitment shortfalls, hard to recruit to posts etc.
• To provide accurate technical advice and guidance to line managers, Trade Union representatives, and staff on all Policies & Procedures and Employee Relations issues.

Who we're looking for
Essential:

CIPD qualified
Previous experience in a multi-union service organisation
Knowledge of the NHS
Experience in handling employee relations issues
Experience of employment law

Good personal organisation and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal, customer care and communication skills
Flexible in approach
Self-motivated
Ability to cope under pressure to meet the changing needs of the service
Ability to use initiative
High professional with high personal standards
Resilient

Commitment to continuing Personal Development
Driving license and access to own means of transport
Ability to travel to other sites within Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire


Desirable:

Experience of working in the NHS
Experience of organisational change
Presentation and training skills
