Operations Manager

The main responsibility of the Operations Manager is to oversee the production process, reducing costs wherever possible and making sure products are produced on time and are of good quality. Utilise production staff and resources to meet production deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards and a safe process.
Monitor the Manchester based production run to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise and communicate potential problems in advance.
Maintain Quality, Health & Safety and discipline standards for dependent staff. Be a key player in the continuous improvement of these areas.
Liaise with the Engineering Department on prioritizing maintenance and machine breakdowns.
Conduct training programmes to increase skill flexibility.

Who we're looking for
A proactive person with experience in manufacturing plant and processes.

An excellent communicator with a proven track record of delivering cost reductions and improving profitability. An implementer of change programmes and is passionate about continuous improvement and highly customer focused. Makes significant performance improvement to businesses bottom line through being focused and structured with a result orientated management style.

Ideally qualified to degree level in Engineering,the candidate will also have shown the personnel skills to manage, motivate and communicate with direct reports.

Has the enthusiasm to develop, train and to motivate staff whilst having the mental toughness to get things done whilst always maintaining discipline and promoting good industrial relations.

The candidate will have a machining background ideallyfrom one of the following industries; Automotive,Aerospace,, General Manufacturing,Packaging,or Assembly. The candidate will ensuring best practices are adhered to by dependant staff to defined Quality and Health & Safety standards.

The candidate must be computer literate and competent in the Microsoft Office suite - some Auto CAD experience will also be an advantage.
