Group Accountant

Due to recent growth a new opportunity has arisen within the Finance function for a Group Accountant. This position will report into the Group Finance Director and will have frequent contact with Account Managers within subsidiary businesses. Responsibilities will include:
• Maintain parent company books and prepare monthly accounts.

• Receive, review and consolidate monthly accounts of subsidiary companies.

• Compile monthly board pack including profit forecasts, trend analyses, sales reports and other financial information.

• Review and continually forecast compliance with banking covenants.

• Assist with the production of the group's annual report, ensuring compliance with all legal and technical requirements (including IFRS).

• Prepare the statutory accounts of the subsidiary companies.

• Monitor tax provisioning and assist the FD with tax planning.

• Drive improvements to reporting across the Group to improve the visibility and analysis of key data - a commercial approach is required.

• Assist with additional acquisition work including negotiation support, modelling and other due diligence requirements.

• Develop and maintain relationships with external parties including auditors and banks.

Who we're looking for
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Strong Excel skills are a pre-requisite; experience of Word and Sage would be an advantage. Conversant with UK GAAP; exposure to IFRS would be an advantage but is not essential.
An enthusiastic and rounded individual with good inter personal skills who is comfortable operating at all levels of a business. Hands on and willing to take ownership for work. Self starting, able to work independently and under pressure. Good at relationship building both internally and externally.
