Reporting to the Head of Accounting, this role is responsible for producing monthly financial statements and ensuring that the monthly accounts reflect business activity. A key part of the role is to fully understand, and challenge where appropriate, all elements of the business operation so as to enable clear explanation of the accounts to the Board and have full awareness of upcoming initiatives which may have an impact on results
• Preparation of monthly financial statements for management review to internal and group timetables.
• Ensuring that monthly accounts accurately reflect on-going business activity.
• Main point of accounting contact between business units and accounting.
• Balance sheet ownership of specific captions and accounts.
• Ensuring that all business related accruals and prepayments are correctly stated.
• Ensuring that all actual cost centre accounting is correctly undertaken at both month and year-end.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting IT and Marketing expenditure in liaison with departmental managers.
• Providing a financial analysis function for senior Finance management as required.
• Supervision and development of the Assistant Management Accountant.
• Developing current reporting capability utilizing SAP functionality wherever possible.
• Actively participate in project portfolio work where business is driving an accounting change.

A qualified candidate with a strong management accounting background. You must be a confident communicator with good leadership and time management skills, able to work to deadline and positively challenge within the business and departments.
