Head of Commercial Deposits - UK and Europe
London
• To develop a one year/three year strategic plan to deliver our client's ambitious deposit acquisition goals, which will be a core part of overall business strategy over the next three years and beyond.
• To drive the expansion of our client's commercial deposit generating operations in the UK and Europe. The Group wishes to build a strong deposit gathering presence in the UK and in Europe
• To establish and lead a team to drive our client's deposit taking capability in the UK and Europe
• To establish links with key organisations and agencies with potential to generate deposits for our client's Treasury operation.
• To generate deposit income in 2008 through a variety of sources - targets to be agreed and commission structure to be put in place.
• To complete an analysis of the UK market initially and to identify the key sectors where deposit generation has the most chance of success and to identify the top 100 organisation to target for business.
• To include expansion to mainland Europe for deposit growth as part of our client's strategy.
• To work with our client's Treasury and Investment Management Divisions on product development to create a suitable suite of commercial and other relevant products to bring to the UK and EU market.
• To work closely with our client's Treasury Operations in all aspects of deposit generation.
• To build our client's brand in these markets as a sustainable and reliable partner for customers.

Who we're looking for
• The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the UK financial services market and in particular the deposit market.
• The person will have operated in a deposit acquisition role in a reputable financial services firm. Some insight into the EU market is also desirable.
• An in-depth understanding of the commercial market and its operations is very important together with experience of developing new business relationships, especially in the area of deposit gathering. Having a range of existing contacts in the commercial market would be a distinct advantage.
• Some management experience of leading a team of business developers is also desirable.
• The successful candidate will be a self starter who can operate quite independently, yet function effectively as part of a team
• A strong track record in delivering in a competitive sales environment is very important.
