As the Commercial Manager it will be your responsibility to, provide commercial support to the International Projects Director and report back to the international Commercial Director. You will identify and manage any commercial risks and opportunities. You will ensure that the businesses financial standards are maintained for The Falkland Islands,and be expected to develop and maintain rigorous control measures through close monitoring.
Key Responsibilities.
To manage and deliver on behalf of IDL the obligations of the Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) to the MoD and its stakeholders
Commercial management of the contract.
To review tenders for projects with senior management prior to submission to the IFM board and or client.
Financial reporting to senior management in accordance with company procedures.
To manage and develop the commercial team skills and training.
Key Tasks
Provide leadership and commercial facilitation to senior management and the commercial team on the islands.
To ensure monthly Cost Value Reconciliation Statements for the maintenance works and projects are submitted to senior management for review.
To forecast anticipated outturn costs for the maintenance works and projects.
To review and develop with senior management procedures and financial controls to monitor labour, plant, materials, suppliers and sub contractors' resources.
To review and analyses tenders with the estimator and the commercial team to ensure the tender is commercially viable, that there is an understanding of the risks that are associated with projects.
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the MoD and Defence Estates (DE) and their respective stakeholders and influence strategy, resolution of commercial issues and ensure the Client complies with its obligations under the contract.
To develop a "Professional" commercial team and oversee training, personnel development and career progression of team members.
To foresee potential commercial issues and own manage and resolve key issues which arise with our client or suppliers proactively and positively.

Who we're looking for
The ideal Commercial Manager for The Falkland Islands will be a highly motivated individual with an in-depth level of relevant knowledge and experience. An understanding of support services, facilities management, civils and construction from a surveying backgroundwould be a distinct advantage. For this position you would be expected to be based in the Falklands for a period of 6 months with a month back in the UK on a continual basis for a period of 2 years.
