Business Development Manager

As the Business Development Manager in this leading Guildford based Business Services firm, you will:
• Develop and implement the regional BD plan to achieve a minimum sustainable 10% growth.
• Be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the marketing function within the region.
• Support the partners and directors in developing new business in a co-ordinated way across the business streams and advising on appropriate mix of marketing activity.
• Play a key role in driving sales management, including assisting in, identifying and developing appropriate target opportunities, encouraging effective cross-selling, development and implementation of BD and targeting programmes.
• Manage proposals and tenders including project management, research, document review, coaching teams, presentation rehearsals and conducting debriefs.
• Ensure systems are in place to allow effective monitoring and reporting of sales and marketing activity.
• Encourage a client service culture and responsibility for implementing the firm's Client Service Review programme and facilitating key account programmes.
• Hold responsibility for managing an effective local marketing and BD team to meet the needs of the region.

Who we're looking for
Skills:
• Proven track record of demonstrating value through the development and implementation of marketing plans;driving business development within professional services or the financial sector
• Demonstrate commercial understanding, with the ability to enhance the internal understanding of business development and marketing within the Firm.
• Understanding of the key corporate sectors within the UK professional services market.
• Accomplished new business strategic selling role.
• Proven track record in articulating core professional service and sales propositions.
• Proactive and takes responsibility for improvements and identifying opportunities.
• Effective communication skills both verbally and written to internal and external personnel, and at all levels of an organisation.
Personal Attributes:
• Client focussed and commercially aware.
• Self motivated individual with a high level of initiative combined with the ability to prioritise is essential.
• Assertive, focused but diplomatic individual, with the ability to challenge, coach and influence senior personnel.
• Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, confident in dealing with clients and partners and staff.
•Proven track record of managing and leading teams with the ability to build rapport and direction with partners / managers
