Zurich International Solutions are looking to appoint an European Legal and Compliance Manager with immediate effect. Reporting to the Head of European Technical Services and Proposition Management the role will enjoy close links with European Propositions team. You will be the Legal Representative for the European business, with the following key accountabilities;
• To ensure that advice accurately reflects the prevailing European law and practice;
• To identify legal issues regarding new or existing European territories, and make proposals on how to overcome them;
• To analyse, evaluate and mitigate legal risk and assist with regulatory and commercial risk mitigation;
• To source and manage external legal advisers in an effective and cost efficient manner;
• To provide regulatory and compliance advice to the European business on European law and practice;
• To support and provide advice to the Head of European Technical Services and Proposition Management, European Market Development Manager and Proposition Management.
Who we're looking for
Zurich International Solutions are looking for a qualified lawyer to fill this European Legal & Compliance Manager role. The ideal candidate will have experience working within financial services, in particular you must be able to demonstrate;
• Post qualified commercial experience either in-house or within private practice;
• The ability to influence others;
• Experience of negotiation and the investigation and analysis of data;
• The ability to work without supervision;
• A current working knowledge of international life insurance and in particular European cross border life insurance;
• Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with and advising at different levels within a company;
• That you are available at short notice and are within a commutable distance of Reading.
