Role Purpose
• To build awareness and recognition for the organisation throughout the sector and other key audiences, networks and communities, in order to ensure that its customers and stakeholders understand and value what it does, want to make use of its capabilities and products, and know how to do so.
• To maintain and manage internal communications for the current staff of approximately 150 staff.
Role Specific Duties
• Manage contractual, commercial and operational relationships with external marketing services agencies covering design, production and print, event support, inventory and logistics to ensure value for money, quality, coherence and availability.
• Oversee the production of corporate publications; manage their distribution and availability, and co-ordinate publication output
• Handle incoming press and media enquiries, managing and developing strong and productive relationships with key journalists.
• Manage and update content on the website, assist with web-based and electronic internal communications, including the production of a weekly internal e-newsletter.
• Research and recommend opportunities for the organisation to connect with its key audiences through presence at external events, and co-ordinate and implement that presence.
• Support specialist and priority programme teams with marketing and communications expertise, working to develop marketing strategies for the delivery of key messages and products to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide venue and event management expertise
Who we're looking for
Further specialist knowledge and expertise in the areas of marketing and communications, that has been acquired through a combination of in-depth experience and post graduate or post registration study.
• Ability to manage the communication of highly complex information in respect of projects (verbal and written) both internally and externally. This may include imparting unwelcome news for example, to stakeholders where performance targets have not been met.
• Analysis & interpretation of the latest research and evidence of the portfolio area and identification of areas for collaborative working, where there may be a range of options.
• Proven influencing and motivational skills to encourage collaborative working between a number of stakeholders where there may be resistance to change.
