Mill Operations Manager

The successful applicant will be a member of the senior management team with total responsibility for the day to day production output of the plant. Reporting to the Operations Director you will have overall responsibility for over 80 staff including production, maintenance, health and safety, consumable purchasing, warehouse, quality and training. You will focus your attention on making sure business plans are met and to execute a continuous improvement philosophy across the site.

Who we're looking for
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Proven track record in production operations management
Responsibility for the introduction and maintenance of LEAN manufacturing activities
Responsibility for all production output
Work/labour allocation
Productivity and efficiency
Capital projects
Management of improvement efficiencies
HR management, recruitment, working practices, discipline etc
Production and analysis of product and costing data
Maintenance and auditing of ISO standards
Total cost control of the production unit
Use of Lean tools such as 5s, TPM, Kiazen, SMED, etc

About our client
Arbor Forest Products are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Howarth Timber Group. They are a leading suppler of quality timber products through independent merchants and industrial users. The group have over 1100 employees and a turnover in excess of £150 million they are a rapidly expanding business. Due to a sustained period of growth they are now in the position to recruit a high calibre Mill Operations Manager for there site in North East Lincolnshire. This is a 75 acre site and the UK's second largest timber planning facility, which is being further expanded with a £4million investment project due to commence production at the end of this year.

What's on offer
