Guide Dogs for the Blind is now seeking a crucial appointment for a Head of Finance. The role will work in partnership with the Director of Finance and Support Services and will manage a large finance department, oversee the quality of management reporting, and take the lead in raising the profile of finance within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Leading the production of the annual and half year accounts
• Managing , developing and training a large team
• Coordinating and managing the financial planning processes including budgeting and forecasting with the Director of Finance and Support Services
• Reporting and monitoring on monthly financial performance against income and expenditure targets for senior management
• Managing the Treasury function
• Providing a full management accounting service and technical advice to all departments within Guide Dogs
• Ensuring that robust financial processes and controls are in place across the organisation.

• Reporting and monitoring on the performance of Guide Dogs' Investments and to be a member of the Guide Dogs Investment Committee
• Leading in the development of user requirements for a new finance and procurement system.

This is a great opportunity to play a major role in supporting the Director of Finance and Support Services, in developing and implementing a new strategy for the future of finance within Guide Dogs

Who we're looking for
The successful incumbent will be a fully qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience and a proven track record of success gained in a large complex organisation. This is a challenging role and will suit someone who has a proven track record of driving change with the ability to influence staff at all levels and from all disciplines.You will be customer focused and able to provide advice and guidance to senior executives on all financial matters.
