As Financial Controller you will manage the Caribbean Yacht Operations Finance and Accounting function. You will display a thorough understanding of operations and related financial information to ensure monthly results are reported accurately and on time.
Detailed Description:
• Manage the Caribbean accounting function to ensure that management accounts are prepared in accordance with month end timetable. This includes managing a team located in the BVI's.
• Review of and commentary on monthly management accounts highlighting any areas which need attention by management.
• Effectively identify, communicate and work with local and regional management to mitigate risks and take advantage of opportunities ensuring that both budget and forecast targets are achieved.
• Develop financial tools and analysis to increase effectiveness of local management team.
• Preparation of detailed annual budget for yacht operations as well as preparation of monthly forecasts and weekly cash flows.
• Development of procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and proper accounting controls are in place.
• Regular audit and review visits to operating areas within the Caribbean.
• Projects as directed by FD and VP of operations
Who we're looking for
Candidate Profile:
Applications are welcome from qualified accountants with a British passport (needed because of work permit restrictions).
You must have previous travel or leisure experience, ideally gained in a 'resort accounting' role (ski season, sailing or traditional hotel/leisure role).
In addition, you must have
• An interest in the yacht charter & tourist industry
• Strong operational finance background
• Strong analytical skills and constantly questioning.
• Fully computer literate & willing to develop new IT skills
