A pivotal role reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Investments, you will lead a team providing an efficient and effective financial service over the group's £2 billion property portfolio (at cost), growing annually in excess of £250m. This role is central to the effective working of the financial controls environment within this growing organisation, thus having added emphasis on maintaining robust procedures and controls, as well as the scope to further develop accurate and timely M.I. Of additional importance is the developing of relationships with key stakeholders to ensure useful and relevant MI is rolled out across the business. Other Key Duties will include:
• To ensure that all necessary capital budgets and annual forecasts are correctly accounted for and to prepare the Development Finance section for control period ends, and year end accounts for audit purposes.
• To monitor the Income & Expenditure spend profile on schemes that are on site and to produce monthly variance reports with the relevant commentary. Also to produce construction-completion audit reports for management.
We genuinely believe this to be an excellent opportunity for someone to play an integral part in the continued development of what is an already impressive organisation.
Who we're looking for
You will be a fully qualified accountant with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the entire accounting process and in particular fixed asset and capital accounting. Whilst this role does require a good technical base it is also equally important that you are comfortable explaining financial information to non-finance staff. Experience of manipulating large volumes of data and developing systems that produces effective and efficient results. Experience of the Housing sector would be an advantage but only if coupled with a commercial approach, however it is definitely by no means a pre-requisite. What is essential, is a good work ethic, together with a team focused approach and an ambitious, forward thinking attitude.
