Financial Controller

The newly-created position of Financial Controller is an important and critical appointment for the business. The role itself is a solid, all-round Controller position, for someone who is able to maintain the control and integrity of the numbers whilst being able to liaise with the operations of the business in order to encourage profit growth and cost control. The right appointment will enable the Finance Director to concentrate on the strategic growth and development side of the business with the peace of mind that the staff and numbers are in order.
Key responsibilities will include:-
• Tight control and management of all accounting and financial reporting.
• Managing the established finance team, providing leadership and stability to the staff.
• Overseeing the credit control, purchase ledger and payroll functions and all related administrative issues.
• Identify areas for process improvements and implement the necessary changes.
• Liaison with Sales and Operations team, providing financial input and KPI reporting where applicable.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following characteristics.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
• Staff management experience and the ability to motivate a team.
• A solid and stable CV - a background in "tangible" industries such as manufacturing and construction would be ideal.
• A high level of attention to detail and a proven track record of controlling and providing integrity in their financial reporting.
• The interpersonal gravitas to take ownership for the Finance function, allowing the FD and board to concentrate on growing the business.
• The ability to work independently with a desire to use initiative when required.
• IT literate with good exposure to standard accounting software.
