Head of Payments Risk for London and Europe

• To build and drive the implementation and management of the Operational and Regulatory Risk control framework, supporting and challenging business unit executives on its effective implementation.
• Responsible for the identification and escalation of emerging and upstream operational risks through the analysis of business/ process intelligence and changes.
• To continuously improve management of the Operational Risk framework across Group functions, identifying the need for adaptation of controls to meet changes in the risk profile and optimise balance between controls and risk.
• To work with Group Functions and Group Risk on policy development.
• To work with the wider Group Risk community to identify best practice and drive the implementation where appropriate of common methodologies, tools and techniques.
• Responsible for providing risk support for Group functions in the management of incidents to minimise risk/loss.
• To ensure all operational activity is completed within the prescribed governance structure and that statutory/governance exercises are completed robustly.
• To manage the relationship between business units and Group Risk, attending relevant business forums and acting as an initial contact for all risk related matters.
• To ensure all activity within Group functions is undertaken against a background of the risk appetite set by the business and Divisional board.
• To assist business unit executives in the decision making process and provide assurance that internal/external policies and regulation are fully complied to through the provision of timely, accurate and focussed risk specific support, reporting and recommendations.

Who we're looking for
• A comprehensive understanding of the business environment within which Group Risk works and the ability to translate this into tangible activities.
• An understanding of the application of operational risk in financial services.
• A comprehensive understanding of operational risk theories and practical implementation approaches for technology.
• Successful management of programmes of change.
• Experience of working with Senior Management/Directors.
• Track record of managing and developing people and teams.
• Leadership approach driving Group Manufacturing forward as a continuously improving business.
