The Strategic Business Development Manager will be tasked with identifying and securing business opportunities in excess of £1m annualised for this leading security business. You will pro-actively hunt for opportunities and be expected to maintain a 12-month pipeline opportunity that should be in excess of £20m. You will also develop a pipeline of unqualified accounts with a view to converting these to revenue making opportunities.
You will be dealing with mature sales cycles and you will also lead the customer negotiations through the bid/tender process (with the support of other functions such as Corporate Development). All of the negotiations will be dealt with at senior and economic decision-maker level and will require you to liaise both internally and externally with the various other departments to effect a positive outcome to all sales opportunities. This role will cover a national remit in terms of target clients.
Who we're looking for
The Strategic Business Development Manager will have prior experience in dealing with complex, medium ticket size sales and preferably from a Business Services background. The post holder will also be able to demonstrate the majority of the following:
• A proven sales track record in hunting for and closing new business opportunities through the bid/tender process.
• A high degree of ability at dealing with senior level in target opportunities, and managing a multi-faceted sales process.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• A high level of commercial acumen and an ability to plan ahead to maximise revenue potential.
• Proven networking and relationship building skills.
• A degree of leadership when managing and liaising with various internal functions that collectively help secure opportunities.
