Senior Buyer

As Senior Buyer you will have sole responsible for the purchasing activity for a small to medium sized manufacturing facility as well as having a role within a group purchasing function where you will be responsible for a number of key commodities.
• Develop sourcing strategies to support the needs of the business and leverage the opportunities available to the group.
• Manage supplier relationships to drive improvement in quality cost and delivery.
• Challenge current practices to drive stepped improvement in the KPIs.
• Select suppliers utilising the supplier selection process ensuring selection based upon objective measures.
• Develop appropriate supply agreements with suppliers that deliver Total Cost Improvement through QCD.
• Consider the potential supply risks from the supply base and proactively remove or minimise those risks.
• Work with materials team to resolve escalated supply issues.
• Facilitate improvement in suppliers by driving the implementation of supplier generated improvement plans.
• Work with NPI teams to ensure early leverage is utilised to secure the most appropriate supply terms for the business.
• Monitor technology, manufacturing and business trends to ensure the supply base can satisfy these ever changing requirements.
• Encourage team working and involvement across both site and group.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have a track record within a similar type role and be looking for a role that offers both responsibility and variety. Due to the nature of the role you will be comfortable working alone as well as part of a team and have a flexible approach with regards to being able to prioritise work. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record within a manufacturing company and candidates with exposure to overseas sourcing will be at an advantage.
