As an Operations Manager you will be required to both develop business with overseas suppliers, and ensure that the companies own cable assembly facilities are operating efficiently and effectively in conjunction with Production Controller.

Overall responsibility will be to optimise the commercial benefit of the Company by planning, co-coordinating and managing the supply chain to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers in a cost effective manner.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Supplier Selection and Relationship

a. Develop and manage the process of selecting suppliers to optimise the commercial benefit of the Company.
b. Plan, develop and manage the process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customer in a cost effective manner.
c. Manage supplier relationships including:-
-negotiating commercial contract
-price negotiations
-quality maintenance
-development of supplier relationship

2. Support Company Production

In conjunction with the Production Manager, support the Company's own assembly and production facilities to optimise the commercial benefit of the Company.

Who we're looking for
The candidate ideally should have:-

-Experience of Supply/Production management.
-Experience of outsourcing products to overseas manufacturing companies.
-Good Project Management skills including organisation, communication, co-ordination, negotiation, interpersonal.
-Technical competence - preferably to a degree or HNC qualification in electrical or electronic engineering.

Our client are a specialist subcontractor and supplier for low to medium volume electrical components

The Company has been manufacturing these components for 30 years within the UK as well as building up a strong manufacturing relationship with key overseas suppliers based in the Far East.
