Wholesale Merchandise Manager

As a Wholesale Merchandise Manager for this leading Footwear Wholesaler in London, you will lead the purchasing team to develop and deliver efficient and pro active purchasing across all businesses, offering a satisfying stock level in line with the business plan and stock turn.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will:
• Determine the range : new products, carry-over, off-catalogue
• Establish the buying calendar and rules
• Control buying grid
• Identify the risk profile of styles
• Prepare the catalogue with Marketing
• Control and authorize the samples ordering
• Maintain the range (cf dropped products)
• Liaise with Logistics re stock inbounds
• Control the buying vs backlog, in the limit of open -to-buy and considering expected stock turns
• Control the clearance-list
• Oversee global stock level
• Control and authorize the airfreight
• Follow-up quality issues and claim to factories
• Decide the products to clear
• Create and implement short/medium term purchasing strategy in agreement with Finance and Operations Director.
• Recruit, train, lead, motivate and develop the purchasing team.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with all key departments in respect of products, stock availability and buying issues
• Develop and deliver accurate and timely reporting on purchasing and stock performance
• Responsible of stock KPI : SKU and stock turn
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Strong product knowledge.
Merchandising experience.
SAP, BW and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Good analytical ability.
Highly motivated, confident and organised individual.
