Main responsibilities include:
To provide first class proactive contract management services to the division and take responsibility for ensuring the operations managers effectively manage all contractual matters.
• Review and amend agreements and assistance in the negotiating of new and existing service user, customer, supplier agreements
• Proactively manage contract changes to achieve the best commercial outcome, managing risks through effective negotiation and dispute resolution
• Establish best practice contract administration standards, procedures and tools, maintaining a contract database, forward events planner and contract summaries for operations managers
• Undertake a lead role, working with operations managers, in negotiating annual pricing reviews
• Initiate and manage the legal process for the collection of delayed debtor account
Critical deliverables:
• To have up to date "plain English" contract summaries and contract database for all live contract agreements
• To have proactive, timely, complete contract records, procedures and administration
• Deliver improved income per bed through improved pricing agreements, contract variations and additional income for services provided that exceed contract obligations
• To mitigate adverse commercial impacts from contract negotiations and disputes
Who we're looking for
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, driven to succeed, sets high personal standards and must be determined to achieve best outcomes and be motivated by results. An individual with keen attention to detail but also able to review and validate results from wider perspectives. Key skills and attributes will include:
• A paralegal, preferably with law degree and a substantial amount of solid commercial working knowledge
• Confident, excellent communication and negotiation skills but with the ability to be compassionate
• Ability to examine and set out complex legal matters in layman's terms
• Solid understanding of general law and a variety of legal agreements
• Ability to analyse, prepare thoroughly, assess multiple issues and determine options and best outcomes
• Commercially astute - ability to understand commercial implications and risks
• Hands on, as the role will be very varied the successful individual will be self sufficient
• Good level of competence in IT systems
• A proven track record of achieving, instigating and delivering improvements within the scope of their role
