Financial Controller

This position reports to the UK FD and will be responsible for the quality of the Balance Sheet and all group reporting. The right candidate will have a sound knowledge of IFRS reporting standards,combined with experience in a tangible industry. Must be able to demonstrate experience in financial accounting, and a track record of career development with theattributes to be able to develop further.

The right person will be hands on, with an eye for detail and will have sufficient experience to have the wider view.
• Develop financial forecasting to ensure prompt and technically accurate forecasts are prepared maximising system capability.
• Management of cash in line with group procedures
• Ensure that statutory financial regulations and all group procedures are adhered to, and brief management on new regulations as necessary.
• Completion of year end and half year reporting packs as required on a timely basis
• Add value in the business wherever possible
• Ensure that all reports are clear and readable to all
• Undertaking ad hoc projects as required
Financial Accounting
This position is responsible for the integrity of the Trial Balance together with all aspects of compliance and all group financial reporting.
• Managing the month end reporting process to produce reconciled accurate management accounts within the deadlines.
• To ensure that all cash, debtor and expense reporting is issued and reviewed on time.
• To ensure that Group Accounting procedures are upheld.
• To manage the interface with the auditors during the statutory audit in a professional and responsible manner.
• To develop the team ensuring that appraisals, training and task led development is carried out in a timely manner annually
• To seek best practice in business reporting standards, system development and communication thereof.

Management Accounting & Business Planning

• Be responsible for forecasting, specifically coordinating other members of the management team and department colleagues and to develop processes and procedures as required.

• Actively develop the cost tracking systems to ensure control of costs to budget/forecast as appropriate.

• To ensure that Departmental expense reviews take place on a regularly and timely manner and to identify and prosecute cost reduction exercises as app

Who we're looking for
• Business-graduate with finance experience including decision support
• Fully qualified in Accountant
• In depth understanding of Financial accounting
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Highly numerate and with strong commercial aptitude
• Confident in influencing business managers
• Substantial level of autonomy and decision making
• Proven ability to present a compelling argument through written, numerical and oral presentations
• Ability to work on own initiative and without close supervision
• Strong consultancy and influencing skills
• Awareness of wider commercial environment
• Exposure to Long term work in progress accounting a benefit.
