As Packaging Manager you will be responsible for the overall management of the packaging for the organisation. The role will cover a number of areas such as purchasing, introducing new ideas and product ranges, selection and development of suppliers and materials, technical development of packaging and finding packaging solutions. Additionally you will be involved in cost models for NPD, meeting with customers and NPD team as well as materials management for production. A high degree of the role will involve purchasing activities such as supplier rationalisation andnegotiating with suppliers.This role is highly influential on the business and it's strategic positioning in the market place. It offers a high degree of variety and involvement in important elements to the business.
Who we're looking for
The right candidate will have a track record in purchasing, negotiating, handling NPD projects and will have a basic understanding of packaging redesign. FMCG background is desirable but not a prerequisite. You will be qualified or part qualified CIPS and/ or IOP. You must be a good communicator and possess strong influencing skills.
