Group Tax Accountant

Based in Crawley you will be responsible for the following:

• Responsible for the tax affairs of the group from a UK & Global perspective.

• To deal with all taxation compliance matters of the UK companies including corporation tax returns, payments on account and handling correspondence with HMRC.

• To liaise with financial controllers for all overseas subsidiaries to ensure local compliance procedures are dealt with.

• Full year and half year reporting of the group tax position under IFRS including deferred tax and monitoring the group effective tax rate.

• Provision of strategic advice with the assistance of external professional advisors as necessary in order to minimise the group taxation exposure, including in the areas of acquisitions, disposals and group reorganisations.

• To review and advise on international issues affecting the group including transfer pricing and management charges.

• Providing practical tax advice and guidance to the businesses covering corporate, employee and indirect taxes.

• Provide input to the quarterly forecasting and budget process from a tax perspective.

• Some travel to subsidiaries will be required.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate is likely to have:
• Professional tax/accounting qualification.
• Fully conversant in UK GAAP and IFRS.
• A rounded individual with good inter personal skills who is comfortable operating with strong personalities at all levels of the business.
• Hands on and commercially orientated.
• Self starting, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Good at relationship building both internally and externally.
