Architectural Technician

Interior Contracting

Their requirement is for a talented Technician with post qualification experience within interior contracting, or the construction industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical preparation, development and coordination of project production information. You will be responsible for meeting with the client to obtain the design brief, compile the drawings and prepare the scope of works.
Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from concept to handover to the delivery team.
• Meet with the client and other external parties to survey the project, and agree a design brief that is acceptable to both the client and Deane & Amos.
• Preparing and presenting design proposals, including required working drawings in accordance with the clients drawings/ designs.
• Provide detailed design information to the internal production, construction and commercial team, enabling projects to be completed within programme, budget and specification requirements.
• Prepare the scope of works to pass to the commercial team.
• Actively participate with the project team to achieve the successful conclusion of each project.
• Liaising with appropriate authorities (planning and building inspections) when producing documentation for statutory approvals.
• Consider design improvements and advise on alternative construction processes.
• To ensure good relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Manage project administration.Skills/Person Specification required

Who we're looking for
Skills/Person Specification required:

• Architectural Technician, with post qualification experience within either interior contracting or the construction industry.
• You will be CAD 2008 proficient, ideally ArchiCAD, but not essential.
• As technical advisor to the design led office, you will be tasked with producing and co-coordinating detailed working drawings/ information/ specifications to the required standards and regulations.
• A proven track record in surveying a project site and advising on design feasibility.
•Background of liaising with planning and building inspectors.
• Confident decision maker with the ability to steer the process and make decisions that are paramount to the successful delivery of the projects.
• Professional and diligent manner.
• Must be able to operate in an open management style with an emphasis on a team working.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Positive, pro active attitude.
• Proven problem solving skills.
• Excellent time management, written and communication skills.
• Be capable of working to strict deadlines.
• The individual will have the gravitas necessary to represent Deane & Amos externally
• A need to be willing to travel at short notice.
• Career motivated.
