The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for all activities within their area ensure that all Production Lines under their control remain operational in accordance with company production and quality standards and be responsible for the safety, support and management thereof.

KEY DUTIES:
• To be responsible for their area to ensure that targets are met, quality is maintained and
that employees are motivated.
• To be responsible for ensuring that products produced on their shift are manufactured and finished whilst complying with all relevant quality standards and health & safety legislation
• To develop and utilise their team members, paying particular attention to developing their
job-related skills, promoting a focus on product quality and offering variety and rotation
whenever possible.
• To ensure that manning levels within their area are maintained to ensure that production
levels are met, including the deployment of Backup Operators. To ensure the effective
management and motivation of all employees within their area.
• To propose, monitor and authorise overtime requirements and schedule daily, weekly,
monthly manpower requirements requesting and interviewing agency employees.
• To assist in maintaining and reducing costs within the manufacturing department. To achieve effective performance management through the use of clear and effective communication including appraisals and giving staff frequent feedback.
• To assist in any internal/external audits that may take place. To identify and action any
proactive measures to improve the preparation and outcome of such audits.
• To drive development projects which focus on providing performance improvements, cost
reductions and greater competitiveness. To deliver products within constraints and
recommend and implement process improvements to defined KPI standards. To use 5S,
Six Sigma, Kaizen etc to achieve these aims.
• To raise production engineering, material handling, quality, maintenance issues etc with the
Manufacturing Manager or other relevant managers to ensure smooth production.
• To allocate resources, planning and scheduling, maximising productivity, quality and
assuring all related Environment, Health & Safety matters within their area.

Who we're looking for
The Manufacturing Supervisor will demonstrate:
• A good knowledge of manufacturing in areas of paint or a pressings environment
• A good knowledge of continuous improvement and problem resolution methodologies.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good man-management skills.
• Accuracy and consistency in all aspects of their work.
• Flexibility in attitude to introducing new ideas and unfamiliar methods and ability to convince
others of their merits.
• An organised and methodical approach to their work.
