SEO - natural optimisation of websites
• Benchmarking performance of the website
• Regularly report on and demonstrate results achieved.
• Research competitor SEO.
• Develop target keyword list and track performance.
• Work with PR and Marketing team to identify in bound linking opportunities e.g. directories, listings sites, blogs, social network sites, topical interest sites etc.
• Write compelling meta descriptions.
• Work with IT Publishing team to improve site HTML e.g. download speed, accessibility, meta data, URLs.
• Routinely checking Google Web Master and Yahoo Site Search tools to ensure site is being fully indexed.
• Support content development by suggesting content topics and themes that will support SEO.
• Regularly report on and demonstrate results achieved.
•PPC - Google Ad Words, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN Ad Centre
• Develop well targeted PPC campaigns across the products and consultancy portfolio.
• Develop campaign depth by creating tight keyword themes.
• Constantly experiment and test Keywords, Ad Variations, CPC.
• Manage budget.
• Work with Web Marketing Manager to develop keyword strategy to prevent overlap of keywords in PPC or SEO campaigns.
• Work with Web Marketing Manager to test and optimise landing pages.
• Agree targets with Web Marketing Manager and ensure targets are met.
• Ensure that all campaigns are properly tagged so that they are accurately reported in web analytics tools.
Who we're looking for
You will have:
• At least 1 year's experience of search marketing experience.
• Proven experience of achieving high natural search engine rankings and successful PPC campaign management.
• Understanding of structural and technical barriers to SEO.
• The ability to manage your own workload within a results and deadline driven environment.
• Good understanding of usability best practice.
• Effective communicator. You will need to articulate what you are doing to improve SEO and PPC and how you are doing it. You will then need to regularly report on progress.
• Curious and analytical mind. You must be genuinely interested in the world of SEO, PPC and usability. Experiment and learn - that is the key.
• Independence. You will be expected to constantly update and develop your knowledge and skills through your own research.
• Strong numeracy and excel skills. You must be comfortable drilling down deep into data and splicing and dicing it to understand SEO and PPC performance.
• Previous experience with Google Web Master and Yahoo Site Explorer tools.
• Experience of Word Tracker or similar tool.
• A university degree
