The successful candidate will be expected to build close working relationships with suppliers to improve delivery performance. The post holder will also be expected to generate accurate materials forecasts and manage stock levels to meet changes in product range.
• Work with the purchasing and manufacturing teams to balance supply and demand in the most cost effective way
• Work with suppliers to reduce overall lead times maximising material / component availability
• Control associated inventory for assigned products to agreed targets.
• Work with and report forecast discrepancy for products under control.
• Monitor effectiveness of safety stock, make recommendation for adjustment to ensure continuity of supply while meeting stock targets.
• Actively manage change process ensuring orderly change occurs within planned timescale while controlling inventory levels and minimising service loss.
Who we're looking for
You will have previous experience of working in a material control supply chain role within either ideally within an automotive or similar manufacturing environment. You will have good analytical skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. MFG Pro experience is highly desirable.
