Reporting to the Head of Business and Legal Affairs you will be responsible for advice and support in relation to:

• The drafting and negotiation of agreements in relation to the company's business activities such as playout (broadcasting and transmission) of television channels across all platforms, interactive television, online services, the production of television commercials and short films, content management, channel branding and access services (signing, subtitling and audio description);

• Assisting with corporate transactions including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and strategic alliances undertaken by the company;

• Rights clearances of content for the company's Creative and Branding and Design Divisions;

• Tenders for the provision of services to new customers;

• Negotiation and drafting of agreements in relation to the procurement, licensing and support of broadcast technology;

• Advice to the various business teams in their day to day activities.

Who we're looking for
You should have:
• Thorough grounding in commercial law;

• Previous experience in negotiating and drafting a range of commercial contracts;

• Previous knowledge and experience in technology law (in particular outsourcing, software licensing. e-commerce, and data protection).

• Previous knowledge and experience of intellectual property law (in particular the application of this area of law to new and emerging technologies);

• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise activities and complete matters within set timescales;

• Good attention to detail;

• An ability to provide pragmatic, commercial, client focussed solutions;

• An ability to understand complex legal matters and concepts quickly and distil key legal issues;

• An ability to adapt communication of difficult concepts and issues for a variety of audiences;

• An ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Knowledge of the media/broadcast industry.
