Commercial Analyst

This is a new position, reporting into the head of strategic sourcing, you will be required to undertake rigorous business/commercial analysis across a diverse range of commercial strategy, business planning and contracting activities within a team structure and to present conclusions in an appropriate format. Core duties will include, providing analytical support to the development and execution of business/commercial strategies as directed andidentifying the key drivers behind business/commercial strategies and develop appropriate options for analysis and reporting. You will need to apply appropriate analytical tools to contribute to robust and fact-based decision making andsupport the implementation of any proposals to the level agreed, including assisting with the design and structuring of supporting business processes or job roles. Other duties will include -
• Provide support to the senior management team to assess and endorse business/commercial strategies or proposals including the validation of options proposed and benefit statements.
• Manage and monitor the metrics to track, periodically review and report actual business performance.
• Assist in the development of continuous improvement options and conclusions with a constant reference to the business drivers involved.

Assist with the drafting and finalisation of formal documentation, reports and supporting schedules, and undertake any other tasks and activities as required to support the effective functioning of the team.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will havea combination of the below -
Essential
• Highly numerate with strong analytical and financial skills
•Exposure of contributing to the development and implementation of change initiatives
• Advanced level of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Good written and presentation skills including an ability to analyse and present complex information in a clear and concise format
• Good communication and influencing skills
• Ability to embrace and apply leading practice tools and techniques
• Proven customer service orientation and collaborative approach
• Degree trained or equivalent business acumen desirable
• Large utility, contracting and/or engineering organisation background
