Junior Management Controller

The Junior Management Controller will be responsible for financial analysis and planning for the luxury brands Christian Dior, Celine, Loewe, Pucci and Berluti. You will act as a key interface between the Management Controller, the Brands' Head Office, the UK Operations and Finance and be strongly committed to exceeding customer expectations and delivering results.

The key objectives of the role will include:
• Review various financial data outputs (daily, weekly and monthly sales, margin, stock, headcounts, investments, communication expenses) and provide analysis of these key areas, highlighting successes and issues and assisting Management Controller in developing action plans and recommendations for improvements.
• Support Financial Accountants in the monthly and quarterly closing process and review financial statements before reporting to Brands.
• Prepare budgets, revisions and 3 year plans in conjunction with Management Controller and Retail Brand Managers including submission of the required reports within deadlines, resolving queries and gaining sign off by Brand HO.
• Review actual costs against budgets and prepare revisions highlighting areas of overspend to management.
• Improve stock levels and gross margin profitability by monitoring store orders against OTB, deliveries to stores, sell throughs and levels of discounts.
• In cooperation with the Stock Controllers develop and implement procedures and controls for the management of inventory, both physical and procedural controls, reporting to management results and status, highlighting areas of concern/risk and proposing actions. This includes full stock takes, rotative inventories, stock orders, allocations and internal transfers.
• Contribute to the implementation of retail and systems projects as identified by management to improve stores and operational procedures for retail, supply chain and financial control, as well as ad hoc projects defined by management.
• Assist Management Controller in developing the relationship with the stores network, including business and financial reviews, store visits, etc.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate would be:
• Degree qualified with excellent academics and a professional qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
• Have excellent knowledge of Excel and understanding of IS business solutions (accounting, retail, data-warehouse)
• Understand the impacts of business activity and be able to advise on opportunities for further business improvement
• Appreciate and resolve complex commercial issues by proposing and implementing the appropriate solutions.
• Demonstrate empathy towards internal and external customers constantly attempting to exceed their expectations
• Have strong communication skills in a cross-cultural environment with high customer service focused approach
• Be a self starter able to manage own time and priorities in a multi-customer multi-site environment
• Develop short and long term plans, to present and gain agreement with Brands and coordinate action to deliver to them
• Although previous experience in the Retail industry is not essential, it is important to have a keen interest in Fashion.
