The sales manager will be responsible for:
1. Selling subscriptions to the Future Laboratory's suite of online and off the shelf publications and products
2. Garnering new business opportunities for bespoke reports and presentation work via sales of the publications and products
3. Marketing the Future Laboratory through publication sales, and new business meetings
4. Expanding the reach of the Future Laboratory internationally by working with and/or identifying potential overseas franchisees and partners
5. Reporting regularly to the company Directors on sales targets, new business leads, client relationships and projected business activity
6. Managing the sales department in terms of potential sales assistant recruitment, training and benchmarking
7. Managing and expanding the Future Laboratory's client contact database (ACT), and reporting on client-by-client sales activity
Who we're looking for
The ideal Sales manager will have the following attributes:
• A proven track record in subscriptions sales (ideally online)
• Great ability to both grow and manage existing relationships
• Proven face to face sales skills coupled with a relaxed and consultative telephone manner
• A strategic approach to sales with demonstrable success in developing new business
• A consultative sales person, you will be adept at understanding the needs of clients and quickly adapting the offering, selling across The Future Laboratory's portfolio
• Ideally you will have prior knowledge of trend forecasting, consumer insight and brand strategy
• An intelligent sales person, you will be a natural team player, able to work in a relaxed but hard-working atmosphere
• You will be capable of building effective internal working relationships, bridging the gap between creative teams and sales
