Construction Lawyer

We have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join this successful construction and engineering team based in Manchester. The team is part of a 70-strong national and increasingly international team and acts for a wide range of private and public sector clients including household name developers, utilities, banks, local authorities, universities and FE Colleges, major national and international organisations.

You will be a key member of this growing and highly regarded team and will work on construction and engineering projects, primarily undertaking non-contentious work. There will be considerable contact with external clients as well as our many "internal clients" (other teams within the business, such as the real estate and banking teams).

You will have the opportunity to participate in training programmes including a diploma specifically tailored to construction lawyers.

You will be responsible (with appropriate supervision) for running client files and undertaking appropriate management of client relationships. You will have the opportunity to work with senior members of the teamon major transactions, many of which have a national and international element.

This role goes far beyond the normal diet of drafting building contracts, consultants' appointments and warranties for developers. You will, for example, be involved in negotiating engineering contracts, advising on contract structures, PFI/PPP flowdown contracts and framework agreements.

Who we're looking for
• A Construction Lawyer with a strong pedigree.
• You will have top-notch academics displaying a strong Legal acumen
• You will be local to Manchester or able to relocate.
• You will have a wide range of experience - contentious and some non-contentious.
• You will ideally be 2 to 3 years PQE however we are happy to hear from individuals who can demonstrate the skills, attitude and academic ability we are looking for.
• You will have experience of working in a top-tier commercial environment , understand the pressures, expectations and realities of practices of this nature and be comfortable working in such a practice.
