The role will involve advising (including taking instructions, all correspondence, documentation, communication, meetings, negotiation, research and analysis and project management) on:
• planning law and its implications;
• compulsory purchase and land compensation;
• development plan enquiries;
• judicial review;
• listed buildings and conservation areas;
• planning agreements and unilateral undertakings;
• planning appeals;
• planning applications;
• planning enforcement;
• highway agreements; and
• blight notices
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
• Proven post qualification experience of advising on a broad range of planning related matters
• Experience in advising on planning applications, hearings and appeals
• Experience in running a heavyweight planning caseload with minimal supervision
• Experience of supervising and monitoring the technical experience of junior lawyers within the team
• Experience in advising on and drafting planning agreements
• Experience in advising on issues such as compulsory purchases.
• Assisting the team as a whole with practice development initiatives using a collaborative, co-operative and open approach;
• Taken a prominent role in technical debate in your current or previous roles by contributing your knowledge both within and without the firm, for instance by publishing articles and/or by delivering presentations and training; establishing and developing relationships with and obtaining instructions from identified target and existing clients and from members of the firm for the Planning Team and the firm through provision of excellent service and/or formal marketing initiatives;
