Interim HR Officer

Manufacturing / Distribusion

My client, a successful Manufacturing / Distribution business, is currently looking to recruit an Interim HR Officer to cover maternity for a period of 7 months. The successful candidate will support the management structure in developing and implementing Company policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective working practice from all employees. Reporting into the Group HR Manager, key responsibilities will include:

• First line contact for all general HR queries from responsible departments
• Raise profile of HR throughout the Company to increase management buy-in and enhance motivation and performance
• Develop understanding and implementation of performance management process
• Monitoring probationary period for all new starters and liaising with line managers to ensure performance reviews are carried out in accordance with company procedures
• Develop, monitor and audit appraisal process ensuring process completed correctly recording any training requirements identified
• Review and continually develop absence management process and ensuring a proactive and effective approach is taken by the line manager
• Manage long term sick including accessing medical reports
• Involvement in disciplinary investigations and conducting hearings
• Management of exit interview process and reporting there of
• Ensure all personnel have a current job description as agreed by line manager
• Ensuring all vacancies are advertised internally, CV screening and interview and selection
• Any adhoc projects in line with business and departmental objectives as they arise including:
• Involvement with the development of the managers guide to policies and procedures
• Involvement and participation with the creation and implementation of induction process
• Working with the HR Manager on the development of policy and procedure to support organisational and legislative change.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will ideally be immediately available and CIPD qualified. They will have a strong grounding in HR with a good working knowledge of employment legislation. They will be an excellent communicator with strong influencing skills and a commercial approach. In person they will be confident and professional and will enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
