This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior finance professional to join one of the major players on the UK Marketing services and support stage. Consistent year-on-year growth on the back of sustained re-investment has seen turnover rise from £4.5 million in the early Nineties to £39 million in 2007. In just ten years, Prolog has returned a six-fold increase in revenue and commensurately greater growth in pre-tax profits. With growth set to continue, a commercially astute Financial Controller is required to work closely with the Sales and Operations Directors, providing financial planning, commercial information, advice and analysis on a variety of commercial projects. Your input will be critical in the success of contract pricing, Business Development and profitability control. This is a real value adding role that will drive the future growth of the organisation.

Additional challenges of this role will include:

- Performance Management and control of a large, dynamic, Finance team
- Development of the company's suite of client reports
- Continuously reviewing overheads and contracts to help reduce costs where appropriate
- Provision of intelligent, commercial information to assist business development and sales in securing new business with the desired overall margin
- Continual development of the financial reporting systems to enable timely production of all management / financial information and contribute to the Profit and Cost centre reviews to improve company profitability

Who we're looking for
This role would suit either an individual who has qualified within professional practice and has since gained experience in the commercial world or a strong Commercial candidate with exceptional financial accounting knowledge and business flair. Our client will consider a unique and talented candidate moving directly from Professional practice.

- Qualification in Accounting (ACA or ACCA ideally)
- Relevant experience in a senior financial position in a commercial/industrial environment
- Excellent numeric and commercial awareness
- Excellent spreadsheet skills and computer literacy
- Good man management skills with the ability to delegate effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with strong organisational ability
- Self-motivated and willing to be challenged
- Flexible and able to work under pressure
