This is an excellent opportunity to get a foothold in a global manufacturing organisation. The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the supply of products from a Key European Vendor who is a contract manufacturer. The role will encompass the managing supplier performance,forward capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives as well as more tactical activitiesto ensure critical continuity of supply. Strategic relationship management is a key factor in this role, and taking a long term approach with the ability to react in the short term will be expected. The Senior buyer will be expected todevelop expert knowledge ofproducts and the processes that impact on supply of product.
Key duties will involve
• developing demand plans
• monitoringvendor performance against KPIs & SLAs
• develop key relationships to ensure mutual success & coordinate monthly reviews
• manage a range of inventory indicators to ensure optimum supply is maintained
• engage the contract manufacturer in improvement activities
• assist the vendor in purchasing activity where required
• manage the new product introduction process by generating clear specifications
• utilise e-procurement tools for RFQ processes where appropriate
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of contract manufacturing with a third party. Ideally you will be from a technical manufacturing background e.g. medical devices or aerospace.
You must have excellent relationship management skills, including influencing & negotiation. You should be able to communicate effectively at a senior level.
Ideallyapplicants will have experience of using ERP systems, and planning tools and understand how to use these tools in order to provide useful management reports.
