To provide specialist input to all projects in relation to the application and use of commercial data to ensure that estimates and targets are realistic, yet challenging to deliver value for money. Be the central point for advice within a unit/region for commercial data collection and quality assurance
Who we're looking for
Substantial commercial experience in the construction industry - preferably infrastructure and within the Water Sector
Good pre-contract skills, including estimating, tender review etc, option evaluation and advising on procurement strategies
Strong Client empathy and ability to work within complex Client organisation at a senior management level
You will be responsible for making effective use of commercial data in projects, informing project teams in relation to estimates of costs and benchmarking at various stages, to secure value for money from the supply chain.
• Assist Project Managers in ensuring that competition is appropriately and correctly undertaken on projects to maintain good governance.
• Quality assures contract documents prepared by consultants to ensure consistency and clarity.
• Manage, drive and oversee the Clients procurement process to drive demonstrable value for money to the Client in the delivery of their growing capital programme.
• Assist Senior Management in bringing challenge to the delivery process from project inception to completion, with the view to looking at 'how can we do things better'
• Work closely with Project Teams at appropriate stages to ensure current procedures and data are being used
• Develop and implement procurement strategy to suit tight programmes to ensure Projects reached site in timely manner
• Provide commercial support across the capital programme
