Group Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a fast growing medium-sized company based in the Thames Valley for a qualified accountant. As part of the continued expansion of the company they require a Group Accountant to manage group statutory reporting and control. This is an important entry point in to the finance team and the successful candidate will gain a thorough understanding of the entire company and have exposure to some very senior people within the business.

The main responsibilities will be-

Statutory Reporting
• Preparing consolidated financial statements for the Group
• Controlling the Group Audit process
• Liaising with Auditors - at interim and final audits

Management reporting
• Providing monthly Group Balance sheet, cash-flows and P&L with appropriate analysis

Balance sheet control and 'mini' internal audits across the group
• Help to ensure that excellent financial controls are in place Group-wide.

Group Financial Information to Banks
• Providing clear, concise and timely information to the banks and auditors
• Liaising with Group Treasury to ensure that the group cash position is appropriately forecast

• Ensure that sufficient processes and procedures are in place for preventing both external and internal fraud

• Ensure Group accounting policies are applied consistently - develop the Group accounting manual

• Ad hoc and special projects

Who we're looking for
• Strong academic background
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
• IT skills: Advanced Excel, adept use of financial systems preferable
• Experience of group consolidation under UK GAAP
• Experience of international/ global finance environment
• Focused and detailed
• Good and up-to-date technical accounting knowledge
• Determination to see exercises through to their conclusion
