The role of the Media & Analyst Director is both strategic and tactical encompassing the full mix of PR solutions to achieve the end goal. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and drive execution of media, industry analyst and public relations strategy at corporate level in congruence with senior management to effectively communicate business performance.
• Draw on years of experience to conceptualize, develop and drive media, industry analyst and public relations strategy and tactics and be main point of contact for media, analyst and public relations issues pertaining to corporate financial performance and strategy.
• Obtain cooperation of internal departments such as corporate functional leaders, other marketing personnel, sales, legal, regulatory, finance, procurement and billing to implement strategies.
• Research, identify and address needs, disseminate information regarding communication activities and obtain appropriate corporate approvals for initiatives.
• Communicate initial direction and supervise projects through completion.
• Manage to project budgets.
Who we're looking for
As this is a key hire for the organisation the skills and experience you bring to the table are very important. The Media & Analyst Director really sits at the heart of the business ensuring all messages are delivered in a timely and accurate fashion enabling my client to stand apart from the competition. As such the following skills are a pre-requisite for the role:
• Extensive and recent PR experience, preferably in a publicly traded telecommunications or technology firm and/or PR agency.
• Extensive and recent experience in media and communications interface for internal/external sources in support of corporation public image.
• Successful record in creative and flexible thinking as well a being able to navigate external relations challenges both tactically and strategically.
• Superior written/verbal communication skills, diplomacy and attention to detail.
• Project management/internal negotiation skills.
• Experience in building media, analyst and PR strategy, not just managing vendor relationships in this effort.
• Proven ability to influence across senior management in and out of direct reporting structure; must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be success-driven, not volume or work project-driven.
