Business Lending Lawyer

To assist and coordinate with the General Counsel of Global Securities Based Lending ("GSBL") and the existing London-based GSBL counsel in providing support to the business.

• To develop a close working partnership with the SBL business people and to act as a trusted counselor and enabler/facilitator for agreed business initiatives, while taking appropriate steps to mitigate regulatory and other risks for the firm.

• To develop a close relationship with other OGC personnel and coordinate activities to enhance compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

• To develop and improve the legal and compliance processes, with an emphasis on overall procedures and legal documentation, with respect to the non-US SBL businesses.

• To provide transactional advice, including with respect to consumer protection and cross-border licensing issues, and the perfection and enforcement of security interests, including with respect to new collateral types (for example, hedge funds, insurance wrappers).

• To provide advice with respect to Merrill Lynch's deposit-taking business, including indexed and dual currency deposits, and other aspects of its banking business, including letters of credit.

• To work in partnership with other OGC personnel in providing advice with respect to highly complex structured transactions, combining derivatives and financing aspects

Who we're looking for
You will be a qualified lawyer with knowledge of derivatives and structured products and relevant documentation (e.g. ISDA, AFB and/or Rahmenvertrag
