Job Role
He/she is responsible for understanding and documenting the customer's internal organization, the dynamic environment it is operating in and its current and future needs. Together with the customer and Business Development Manager/Key Account Manager, the Solution Design Engineer defines project deliverables and translates these into an organizational design including processes, people and technology of both customer and Schneider Logistics (Solution design). The Solution Design Engineer works closely together with the customer's project team that represents all functional areas that are involved. You challenge customers to find solutions that both benefit Customer and Schneider Logistics. During the implementation phase the Solution Design Engineer will support (in the background) the Implementation manager and his team in the realization of the designed solution. Within the entire project team he/she fulfills a supporting role. Once in the Solution Design is finished, the Solution Design Engineer will hand over the Project to the Implementation team.
The Solution Design Engineer concentrates on building solutions and not on planning tasks. However he/she works closely together with the Implementation manager and escalates timely in case of events that have an impact on timeline, budget or resources.
Who we're looking for
- Bachelor/Master Business Management level with work experience, preferably in Transportation / Logistics.
- Initiative and discipline necessary to work in unstructured, rapidly changing environment.
- Sound, developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage medium to large-scale projects and work autonomously to meet project goals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; experience working directly with Customers.
- Positive thinker with commercial instinct.
- A drive for continuous improvement and solutions skills
- PC skills desired; experience using standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Occasional travel required.
- Good knowledge of English, written en spoken, German or French or other language is a big plus
- Work / Residence permits for employment in the Netherlands required.

The Solution Design Engineer is responsible for the conceptual design (Blue Print) solutions for new business accounts and expansion of current accounts for Schneider Logistics.
