A fantastic opportunity has arisen, for an 18 month contract within this leading manufacturer and supplier of high quality cable management, rainwater and drainage systems, for a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager. My client is seeking someone who will pioneer their Purchasing function and deliver substantial results. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the entire inputs to the organisation to support the most efficient and lowest cost of supply, of products and services to our customers and all operational functions to meet all business demands, by establishing commercially professional and ethical working relationships with Suppliers.
Other Key Responsibilities:
• To ensure production schedules profitably and accurately meet all internal and external business demands, ensuring all materials are in place to meet schedules and having regard for any business imposed constraints.
• To apply recognised best practice project management techniques to the procurement and supply chain process.
• Lead and manage all the production and scheduling team to enhance and focus its ability as a team to meet business demands.
• To prepare, negotiate and approve contracts to the benefit of and on behalf of C & C Marshall. Maintain a current knowledge of English Contract Law and an ability to effectively apply it.
Who we're looking for
You will have a proven track record in a manufacturing environment where you will have strategically managed the supply chain, including contract management and international purchasing. A creative thought process to purchasing is essential and the ability to influence is a must have.
Other key competencies:
• Project Management Skills - the ability to deliver specific projects within an agreed specification, time scale and cost.
• Analytical Skills - ability to interrogate and analyse corporate data to support purchasing and supply chain strategies, including the interpretation of sales forecasts, commercial trends & commodity markets.
• Experience in the use of Company Procedures - including delivery of Team Briefings & staff reviews.
• Quality Management - to include process management and the ability to adhere to and improve agreed procedures.
• Experience in use of appropriate IT systems within a purchasing/supply function.
