My client a leading multinational Energy company is seeking a Legal Counsel to join a high profile team based in Surrey. You will be responsible for carbon and/ or power for the business and will support the carbon origination and trading team and/ or the power origination team in negotiating and executing a range of upstream and downstream carbon contracts; asset and equity acquisitions, dispositions and/or joint ventures.
Who we're looking for
You will be an energy lawyer who qualified in the UK or a commonwealth jurisdiction with a good understanding of the UK and European energy markets. A solid understanding of company compliance is also essential and a working knowledge of carbon, corporate/commercial, finance and energy trading is also desirable. You will be self motivated, thrive on high pressure and able to influence and build relationships with Front, Middle and Back office business units.
