This is a new position being created to centralise and control the procurement function of a national automotive / service sector organisation with an annual turnover of over £150m. The role will take responsibility for all direct and indirect spend sourcing finished products from manufactures and distributing via warehouses to outlets and competitors. Due to the lack of a controlled procurement function the Procurement Director will be required toundertake a complete supply chain review and drive corrective actions / change management throughout the organisation.This will be a very hands on role where it is necessary to investigate operational processes but also plan at a strategic level.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be MCIPS qualified (or working towards) and have a proven track record within a senior procurement role. You will have been involved in setting up procurement functions or making significant changes and improvements to existing processes. Possessing excellent communication skills you will have the ability to influence internal stakeholders and drive through process and cultural change. Capable of operating at a strategic level you will be required to and be able to demonstrate you can negotiate national agreements.
