Manager: Strategy Development & Analysis

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and build business capability in strategic analysis and planning. Specifically to design, develop and deliver processes to embed best practice strategic planning. This also includes definition, build and maintenance of rolling strategic planning models

• Provide coaching, support and challenge to internal management boards in strategic planning. Understand and synthesise information and present recommendations to the MD & FD

• Conduct strategic opportunity assessment, securing appropriate support and present findings and recommendations to the business. This would include analysis of new products, distribution channels, geographies etc.

• Develop appropriate back checking procedures to assess the contribution of initiatives to inform future strategic options.

• Development and co-ordination of the Annual Operating Plan

• Work with key stakeholders to develop and lead high value business cases. In particular these will focus on initiatives spanning the entire business or which are sensitive in nature

• Support the Head of Strategy & Planning in providing impartial challenge to investment prioritisation decisions through the investment portfolio steering committee

• Act as strategy business partner to 1 channel and 1 segment.

• Develop and maintain a network of internal and, where appropriate, external contacts in order to facilitate the dissemination of useful information

• Lead, motivate, and develop colleagues so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business

Who we're looking for
Experience / Qualifications

1) Experience of working at senior levels within a strategy / finance department of a UK blue chip corporate, strategy consultancy or accountancy practice

2) Strong relationship management and communication skills possibly gained from a business partnering role

3) MBA or Qualified or part trained accountancy qualifications of interest but not essential
- analytical and modelling skills an advantage
