The main function of the role will be to plan and co-ordinate the Company's safety and environmental policies to ensure best practice and compliance with legislation.The successful candidate will also establish, promote and co-ordinate new initiatives and strategies which drive continuous improvement in the Company's health & safety and environmental performance.
The successful candidate will advise all levels of management on Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and new regulatory developments, appropriate to and impacting the activities of the Company.
He or she will also prepare, manage and implement Health & Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure best practice and compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will be practical, and come from an engineering or environmental, health and safety background, with a minimum HND/HNC standard of education in an engineering discipline.
He or she will have NEBOSH diploma or equivalent and previous experience in developing and implementing health and safety and/or environmental programmes in a manufacturing setting. Previous experience managing compliance with environmental permits and consents is preferable.
