The Strategic Purchasing Manager will need to integrate into the business and continue to develop the supply chain detailing current processes, issues, and structures with the view to improving the capability of the project teams. The focus will be on 2 main areas, strategic supply chain development and line management. The key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting and developing a team of materials and subcontract buyers.
• Delivering procurement support to the regional projects from the bids process through to supplier management (full life cycle).
• Operating as a category expert for the UK organisation negotiating group agreements for a specific area of expertise.
• Trouble shooting in problem areas effecting the successful completion of projects (internal consultant).
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record within the construction industry, and will have worked on high value projects both from a strategic and operational (hands-on) perspective. Relationship management will be key to the success and development of this position. A working knowledge of JCT & NEC would be a distinct benefit.
