The role for the successful candidate will:-
• Plan & Co-ordinate of overall cost budget and ongoing forecast processes for the core Consumer Business including Insurance Services. Provide variance analysis, completing corporate packs summaries & commentary.
• Manage relationships with Corporate to ensure recharges are appropriate and accurate, and representative of the benefit received. In particular technical services recharges and information systems recharges.
• Manage the cost base within the Consumer Operations arena.
• Manage the recharge environment to ensure that such activity is truly beneficial to the reporting of the business and where possible handled via the shared service.
• Provide advice & support to cost centre managers on reasons for cost variances across Consumer and Insurance Divisions.
• Provide authorisation for travel and other recharges in accordance with head allocations and budget construction.
• Make recommendations for improved Financial Controls and appropriate use of budget.
• Post month end journal adjustments relating to costs, including all accruals and prepayments.
• Provide objectivity & financial expertise to the business planning & decision making process.
Who we're looking for
• Qualified, ACA, CIMA or ACCA
•At least 5 years relevant experience with the majority in a commercial environment.
• Sound technical accounting skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written & verbally at all levels including Board Level, Middle & Lower Managers.
• Strong PC literacy.
• Knowledge of the Divisional structure & practices.
• Experience of preparing and consolidating actuals, forecast, budgets & strategic plans.
